DDR SDRAM... Where are You?
By C. Rogers, 07.00

There are no doubts that today's CPUs are blazing fast. The 1 GHz milestone has already been reached; higher BUS speeds already are found between 133 and 200 MHz. The big question is, where are there good economically-priced RAM modules higher than the `133 MHz` mark? One might say Rambus is the answer, but then again, who wants to dish out $600 for a 64 MB RAM chip?

DDR-SDRAM is and will be the solution to this issue. DDR-SDRAM will debut at 200 and 266 MHz BUS speeds, something that is "ever so needed" in the current Athlon and "Via Pentium III" platforms. Today, non-Rambus motherboards are only limited to 133 MHz BUS speeds in the northbridge chipset.

In order to achieve high performance right now, we need to get on our hands on DDR-SDRAM as soon as it becomes available.

The big question is-- where are you "Mr. DDR"?

We want you.
