Internet Explorer 5.5 SP1 Now Available
By C. Rogers, 12.00

While the vast majority of users will likely not benefit from its new features, Internet Explorer 5.5 SP1 has been released to the public nonetheless.

The features included in this service pack are somewhat useful for those interested in future web design. New implementations offer better support for DHTML and CSS-- characteristics which can improve the appearance or overall design for webpages.

However, as the name implies, this is still a "5.5" browser from Microsoft. Do not expect any drastic changes or features otherwise; this will occur with the next major release, Internet Explorer 6. This browser is currently in testing stages, and will offer more integration with popular trends. While this may not be popular for the computer-literate (because of useless "space-hogging" features), it will appeal to the average user wanting simpler, heavily-featured program interfaces.
